Been A While

What is a "while" anyway? I've heard it said that we while away our time. What does it mean to while?

I guess it's how I spent my time overseas. I spent a while in darkness, and a while in light. I fought for freedom a while, and submitted a while a well.

Oh, well.

I wasn't going to tell you, but I didn't feel lonely out there. Oh, I thought about you! A lot. But I was never lonely. Never lost in anything but the work. I loved the work. It changed me! It made me more!

Yet one thing remains for me. To wait a while for you.

You weren't on the airplane, nor at the airport. No magical meeting in France. Nor Atlanta. Even so, I'm here still. Still waiting for you. I need just one girl. As long as she's the one.

Anyway, it's late now.
